Mohamed Salah on Staying at Liverpool: I Seek Appreciation, Not Money

Egyptian national team captain and Liverpool player Mohamed Salah confirmed that he is not looking to leave Liverpool and is instead seeking stability and to remain with the club. However, the decision about his future is in the hands of the club's management, which so far has not met the demands of the team's top performer this season and the league's top scorer. Salah stated in an interview with "GQ" magazine during a photoshoot: "I want to stay, but it's not in my hands; only the club’s management is discussing this matter. They know what I want, and I am not asking for anything crazy. It is about more than just money; it’s about appreciation. It’s about when you request something and they show you that they can give it to you because they value what you have done for the club."

Mohamed Salah's contract with Liverpool ends next year, specifically after 18 months on June 30, 2023, but the two parties have yet to reach an agreement regarding the renewal, although all matters seem favorable for the Egyptian player, especially as he approaches the potential to be crowned World Player of the Year. Salah added: "I have been here for five years; I know Liverpool well. I love the fans, and the fans love me, but the matter is in the hands of the management."

Reports from England have revealed that Mohamed Salah wants a weekly salary of £500,000, but the Liverpool management is hesitant to grant this wage in order to maintain internal salary structures within the club.
