A shocking video has stirred the emotions of Egyptians over the past two days, depicting a man attempting to throw his daughter from a balcony. The girl, Mai Abdul Tawwab, aged 12, revealed to "Al-Arabiya.net" the details of what transpired. She explained that her father tried to discipline her for being late in preparing breakfast; he grabbed a hose in an attempt to hit her as punishment, but she fled from him and ran to the balcony.
She expressed that she felt terrified of her father and tried to jump from the balcony, but he managed to catch her and called for neighbors to help him save her to prevent her from losing her balance and falling lifelessly to the ground. Meanwhile, the child's mother mentioned that security forces released her due to her non-involvement in the incident and also released her daughter, while the father was detained for a criminal investigation. She confirmed that her husband did indeed try to hit Mai, but she escaped from him, stressing that he did not intend to throw her from the balcony.
Additionally, the video had caused significant uproar on social media, prompting authorities to open an investigation. The 44-second clip showed a man holding a girl by her arms as she hung from a balcony before two other men intervened to pull her back to safety.
