Despite numerous criticisms directed at the Egyptian series "Malook Al-Gadana," which is airing during Ramadan, it has attracted a large segment of viewers and followers in the Arab world. The series has been achieving resounding success since its release at the beginning of the holy month, consistently trending daily and ranking first in more than 25 Arab and foreign countries as the most-watched and followed Arab work. This phenomenon is unprecedented among the Arab audience, as images of "Sariya" and "Sifina" have become widespread in the streets of Egypt and other Arab countries, according to the Shahid platform.
**Inspired by the Film "Salam Ya Sahbi"**
The writer of the series, Abeer Suleiman, surprised viewers by revealing that "Malook Al-Gadana" is inspired by the film "Salam Ya Sahbi," starring Adel Imam and the late Said Saleh, as she stated in interviews. She mentioned that the work underwent a modern adaptation of the film with a dramatic plot, blending comedy with action scenes.
**Competing with Indian Films**
Due to the series’ events and some illogical situations in certain episodes, it has received significant reactions on social media, leading viewers to describe it as a worthy competitor to Indian films. Some episodes featured the hero coming back to life after being shot in the heart, then defeating an armed gang with his bare hands, among other scenes that sparked widespread discussion on social networks.
The series stars prominent actors Amr Saad and Mostafa Shaaban, alongside a selection of notable stars, including Amr Abdel Gelil, Rania Youssef, Dalal Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Safwat, Yasmin Raees, Waleed Fawaz, among others. It is written by Abeer Suleiman and Amin Gamal, directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa, and produced by "El Sobky Brothers."
