Africa Cup of Nations Final: Mohamed Salah Comments on Facing Senegal

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah expressed his determination to experience that "special feeling" of winning the Africa Cup of Nations, as he stated yesterday, Saturday, on the eve of the final match of the 33rd edition of the continental tournament. Salah and his teammates are preparing to face Senegal, aiming to lead the "Pharaohs" to their first title since 2010 and their eighth in history.

Salah will be highly motivated to overcome Senegal and claim the continental title for the first time, as the Liverpool star began his international career in 2011, after Egypt had last won the continental title for the seventh time.

Speaking on the eve of the final scheduled for tonight, Sunday, at the "Olympic Stadium" in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé, Salah said: "It is something very special to win a title with your national team. I won the Champions League title (in 2019 with Liverpool), and the feeling was amazing. I won the Premier League title with my team (in 2020) after a 30-year absence. I won in Switzerland (with Basel) and won everywhere, and I also want to experience this feeling of winning my first title with my country."

He added: "How special would that be? I am very excited, and everyone is ready for that. I hope we can win the title."
