Security Suspect Detonates Himself and Injures Others in Jeddah

The Saudi State Security announced on Friday that a wanted individual was tracked down on Wednesday evening, and when the authorities initiated his arrest, he detonated himself with an explosive belt, resulting in his death and injuries to one resident and three security personnel in the Samir neighborhood of Jeddah. According to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the official spokesperson for Saudi State Security stated that following a report issued on 21/4/1437H announcing the names of nine wanted individuals, and as part of ongoing security follow-ups, the competent authority succeeded through a security operation in tracking down suspect number four on that list, Abdullah bin Zayed Abdulrahman Al-Bakri Al-Shahri. His location was noted at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, 12/1/1444H in the Samir neighborhood of Jeddah. Upon the initiation of his arrest, he detonated himself with an explosive belt he was wearing, resulting in his death and injuries to one resident of Pakistani nationality and three security personnel who were subsequently transferred to the hospital for necessary treatment.

The State Security confirmed its continued determination and resolve to confront anyone who attempts to undermine the security, stability, and safety of citizens and residents within the country.
