The Goal That Required 33 Passes in the Champions League

Belgian star Eden Hazard scored a remarkable goal during Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Scottish side Celtic on Tuesday in the first round of the Champions League group stage. According to statistics network "Opta," Hazard's goal came after 33 consecutive passes from Real Madrid players, the highest number of passes leading to a goal for the royal team in the Champions League, out of a total of 434 goals scored by the club since the 2003-2004 season. With this win, Real Madrid secured second place with 3 points, trailing leaders Shakhtar Donetsk on goal difference, while Celtic sits in fourth place with no points. Hazard came on as a substitute after 30 minutes of the match, following the injury of star player Karim Benzema, who requested to leave the field and not continue the game. Benzema complained of muscle pain in his right foot, leading coach Carlo Ancelotti to decide to replace him with the Belgian forward.
