Qatar's Ongoing Role in Achieving Peace in Afghanistan: Insights from the Foreign Minister's Envoy

Dr. Mutlaq bin Majid Al-Qahtani, the special envoy of the Qatari Foreign Minister for mediation in dispute resolution, affirmed that Qatar continues its role in achieving peace in Afghanistan and believes in the importance of negotiations to reach a peaceful solution. In a statement to "Qatar Television," Al-Qahtani said, "Qatar will continue its role as long as there is a role that the State of Qatar can play to achieve peace in Afghanistan." He added, "We firmly believe that there is no military solution to these conflicts, and they must be resolved through negotiations and peaceful means." The special envoy further noted, "As for the issue of power sharing or participation in power or a transitional government or the systems in place in these circumstances, that is a matter for the Afghans themselves."
