Death of Lebanese Nationals Fighting Alongside ISIS in Iraq

Local reports from Lebanon have indicated the deaths of 6 young men, and possibly more, from the city of Tripoli while fighting alongside a terrorist organization in Iraq. According to circulating information from Tripoli in northern Lebanon, families of 4 young men from the Saif family in the Wadi al-Nahla - Beddawi area received this news on Saturday evening, resulting in a state of anger among them.

The Iraqi News Agency, citing a security source, reported the deaths of 3 Lebanese individuals during combat in Iraq, following an airstrike that targeted a terrorist cell in the town of Al-Azim. A brother of one of the Saif family members in northern Tripoli stated that a message confirmed the death of his brother and cousins, adding that the message was accompanied by a video clip of the operation conducted in Iraq, holding the Lebanese state responsible for leading its youth to a state of migration.

Witnesses from Tripoli also confirmed to "Sky News Arabia" that the number of Lebanese young men killed in Iraq has reached 6, with the likelihood of the number rising further. There is a prevailing sense of anxiety in the city, especially among the families of the young men who had gone missing days ago, with claims that they had joined ISIS.

Lawyer Mohammed Sablouh told "Sky News Arabia" that one mother learned of her son's death after he had delayed responding to her messages, until she received the news of his death yesterday Saturday, along with his comrades in an Iraqi airstrike. According to sources, 3 of these young men belong to the Saif family from Wadi al-Nahla - Beddawi, while the fourth is from the Sayyed family in Al-Qobbeh, in addition to two brothers from the Shkhaydam family.

Security sources have not confirmed or denied this information. However, sources have stated that security authorities are still investigating the accuracy of these reports, while some families of the young men confirmed their sons' deaths and posted their photos on social media. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time reports have emerged regarding the disappearance of young men from Tripoli. Media sources in Tripoli have stated that youths are being lured to join ISIS in Iraq.
