Allowing Hajj for Only Two Categories of Non-Saudis

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Thursday that only two categories of non-Saudis are allowed to perform the Hajj rituals this year. The ministry stated in a press release: "Hajj can only be performed by those holding a dedicated visa for that purpose or who have a legal residence inside the Kingdom," which means that holders of visit or business visas cannot apply for a Hajj permit this year, according to "Okaz" newspaper. Regarding the method and mechanism for performing Hajj this year, and the number of guests allowed to perform the pilgrimage, whether from inside Saudi Arabia or outside, "Hajj and Umrah" confirmed that all details will be announced through the ministry's official channels. Last year, the Hajj season was limited to only 60,000 citizens (Saudis) and residents within the Kingdom, with the requirement that they be vaccinated against the Coronavirus, in a decision made in light of the ongoing pandemic.
