Barcelona Fans Accuse Laporta of Frankfurt Scandal Over Money

Reports indicate that fans of the Spanish team Barcelona have called for protests due to the large number of Frankfurt supporters present at the "Camp Nou" stadium during the match in which the team lost 2-3 in the Europa League. The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported on Sunday that the "Nostra Ensenya" supporters' group plans to organize a protest outside the stadium on Monday, one hour before the start of the match against Cádiz in La Liga.

On Instagram, the group described the presence of such a large number of Frankfurt fans, the visiting team, during Thursday's match as humiliating. With this victory, Frankfurt eliminated Barcelona from the tournament. The "Nostra Ensenya" group accused club president Joan Laporta of allowing this to happen for financial reasons, thereby putting the physical safety of the home team’s supporters at risk.

Barcelona coach Xavi stated on Sunday that the strong presence of the visiting team's fans played a role in the loss. He added: "The players did not feel comfortable, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t good. However, it did negatively affect us." Laporta has stated that in the future, he will sell special tickets for international matches. Reports claimed that over 30,000 Frankfurt supporters were at Camp Nou last Thursday, despite Barcelona stating that they sold only 5,000 tickets to the German fans. According to media and fan reports, many Barcelona season ticket holders sold their tickets to Frankfurt supporters.
