Energy and Water Minister Walid Fayyad will depart for Cairo this evening to participate in an extensive meeting in the water and sanitation sector, upon the invitation of his Palestinian counterpart and head of the Arab Water Experts Network, Engineer Mazen Ghoneim. The meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters, will focus on presenting a study assessing the damage to the water and sanitation sector in Gaza as a result of Israeli aggression. Minister Fayyad will deliver a speech on behalf of Lebanon as the president of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water this year, discussing the regional situation in the water sector, its importance, and the implications of the Israeli war on Gaza in relation to water and sanitation.

The long day tomorrow, Sunday, July 3, will include a series of meetings and speeches centered on the water sector and the assessment of the damage across all levels. Additionally, Minister Fayyad will meet on the sidelines of the conference with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineer Tarek El Molla, to discuss the topic of exporting gas from Egypt to Lebanon, especially following the recent signing of the contract on June 21, which took place at the Ministry of Energy and Water in Beirut.

After his visit to Cairo, Minister Fayyad will head to Baghdad, Iraq's capital, in response to an invitation from his Iraqi counterpart, Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail, to hold talks on mutually relevant topics, particularly concerning the extension and development of the signed contract and strengthening the partnership between Lebanon and Iraq to ensure the continued supply of fuel oil for the power generation plants belonging to the Electricite du Liban.
