Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, believes that Kylian Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, and Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund striker, will join Real Madrid at the end of the current season. Mbappe's contract, who scored a goal in added time of the second half against Real in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday, expires at the end of this season. The World Cup winner with France has scored 22 goals and provided 13 assists in 32 matches for the Parisian team across all competitions this season.
Following PSG's 1-0 win over Real, the young French player stated that he is still uncertain about his future, while reports suggest that the Paris club is ready to make an extravagant offer to extend his contract, making him the highest-paid player in the world.
Despite this, Tebas expressed confidence during an interview with Europa Press that Mbappe will play in La Liga next season, possibly alongside Norwegian Erling Haaland. Tebas stated: "Real will sign Mbappe and Haaland while the others, Barcelona and Juventus, are suffering financially." He clarified that Mbappe's joining is good news for La Liga and would bring joy to the competition, describing it as the best thing that could happen to the league. Tebas admitted that his confidence is not based on knowledge of a deal, but rather on the player's position regarding his contract in recent months, indicating that he has decided to leave his current team.
