American boxer Travis Fulton ended his life in prison by suicide, after a life full of excitement and controversies. He transformed from a boxer who won 255 fights in his career to a prisoner facing several charges, which he confessed to before his suicide. The 44-year-old former mixed martial arts boxer, nicknamed "Iron Man," committed suicide inside the Linn County Jail in Iowa, where he was found dead in his cell.
Fulton's body was discovered during a routine cell inspection; he was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where paramedics failed to resuscitate him, and his death was announced at the hospital. Just a day before his death, "Iron Man" agreed to plead guilty to two of the charges against him, while his defense team contested a search warrant that led to the confiscation of his electronic devices, in which investigators found pornographic images.
Fulton pleaded guilty to all charges, and a sentencing hearing was scheduled for July 23. The boxer was accused of repeatedly striking a woman in the head and threatening to kill her in September 2019 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, and had previously been convicted of domestic violence.
Throughout his mixed martial arts career, Fulton fought in 320 matches, winning 255, losing 54, having 10 draws, and one no contest. His last fight was in April 2019 in the "M-1" World Heavyweight Championship against Shannon Rich.
