The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that EgyptAir has started operating flights between Tel Aviv and Cairo with a frequency of four flights per week. The spokesperson for the ministry, Lior Hayat, stated in an interview with "Al-Hurra" that the country will be officially notified in the coming days about the exact start date of these flights, emphasizing that the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt is a cornerstone in the normalization agreements in the region. Regarding Israel's relationship with Bahrain, Hayat explained that there are common interests with Manama and that he looks forward to strengthening this relationship following the Bahraini ambassador, Khaled Jalahma, presenting his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Monday. Concerning Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's initiative for the reconstruction of Gaza, Hayat stressed that this initiative is serious and that Palestinians should recognize this, choosing either the path pursued by Hamas or developing Gaza to make it more stable and secure. In the first Israeli comment on the formation of the Lebanese government, the spokesperson stated that Israel wants peace for the Lebanese people, but he emphasized that achieving this is difficult as "Hezbollah controls the government." Last Friday, the Lebanese presidency announced the formation of a new government in Lebanon, headed by Najib Mikati, after a year of vacuum resulting from sharp political divisions that have deepened an unprecedented economic crisis that Lebanon has been grappling with for two years.
