"Pumpkins and Rats": Media War Between Russia and America

Moscow has reminded about an American report that sets a date for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova sarcastically noted that there are only two hours left until the deadline set by the American agency "Bloomberg" for the "start of the Russian invasion" of Ukraine. Zakharova wrote mockingly on "Telegram": "We all remember that the American agency "Bloomberg" announced that "Russia would attack Ukraine on February 15." She asked, "Doesn't this outlet want to clarify its predictions?" She continued: "Two hours to repent before 'Bloomberg' turns into a 'pumpkin,' and those who used it to promote the war into 'rats,' referencing the global story of 'Cinderella' when the fairy godmother told her she must return home before midnight, and everything would return to how it was, with the luxurious carriage turning back into a pumpkin and the servants into rats."

Prior to this, "Bloomberg" had published a report on its site announcing the start of Russia's "invasion of Ukraine," later acknowledging that it was incorrect and deleting it, stating that they are investigating the incident. Commenting on the agency's headline, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted that "this fact speaks to the danger of aggressive statements by the United States and Western capitals and illustrates how such messages can lead to irreparable consequences."
