Recent Study: Egg Yolks Pose Risks to Youth

A new study has reported that consuming just three eggs a week can increase the risk of death among young people, according to the British newspaper "The Sun." Experts indicate that egg yolks are high in cholesterol and fats, which can contribute to cancer, heart attacks, and strokes.

The findings revealed that those who consumed an additional 300 milligrams of cholesterol daily—equivalent to about three eggs per week—were 19 percent more likely to die. Co-author of the study, Professor You Zhang from Zhejiang University in China, stated, "In this study, egg consumption was linked to cardiovascular diseases and cancer-related deaths." He added, "The increased mortality rate associated with egg consumption was significantly affected by cholesterol."

Recently, the mortality rates from cancer and cardiovascular diseases have risen by 24 and 16 percent, respectively. Experts are now urging people to consume only egg whites. The research concluded that egg enthusiasts are also at higher risk for a range of other diseases, such as respiratory diseases, Alzheimer's, and diabetes.
