Talal Mardini: I Love Mohamed Ramadan a Lot, and My Last Two Works Exhausted Me Mentally

Syrian artist Talal Mardini expressed his admiration and affection for Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan during his appearance on the program MBC Trending.

The Syrian artist stated that he loves Mohamed Ramadan a lot and considers him his first artistic idol, noting that they met at a festival where they were supposed to collaborate on a project. Mardini described the encounter, saying: "We met at a festival, and I saw people greeting me. He called me over and asked what I do. I told him I'm a Syrian actor; he told me I was great from my features. He took my number and said he wanted to work on something together," attempting to imitate him during the episode with his voice and gestures, emphasizing that his imitation comes from affection rather than mockery.

In another context, Mardini mentioned that filming the series "Khaybat Amal" faced severe challenges, explaining that the title reflects the disappointment all characters experience throughout the plot. He added, "We struggled during the filming; we were in Lebanon shooting all the events, and we suffered. When we started filming, the trees in Lebanon burned, then the roads closed during the revolution, and there was bankruptcy all over Lebanon. To top it off, the series ended, and on the last day of shooting, the explosion happened in Lebanon."

The series revolves around three security men assigned to a mission involving the smuggling of antiquities from Syria to Lebanon, with the involvement of Egyptian individuals and collaboration between Egyptian, Lebanese, and Syrian authorities. It is based on a true story, while Mardini's character is kidnapped during the events. The series includes many scenarios and more than 10 to 15 battles, including maritime battles. It is a joint Arabic production featuring Talal Mardini, Carlos Azar, and Ahmed Karara, written by Joseph Obaid and directed by Eli Barbouri.

Mardini also talked about the series "When She Saw," which he recently finished, describing it as a joint project. He mentioned, "I told the director of the work that for the first time, I am leaving a series mentally exhausted. It was very tiring, as he is someone who does not settle for mediocrity," indicating that he was happy with the collaboration and that the work atmosphere was enjoyable.
