The management of Al-Ahli Jeddah has agreed to the terms of Syrian star Omar Al-Soma to renew his contract with the club for the next three years, especially since his current contract expires at the end of the current season.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Jazeera," the last meeting between the club officials and the player's agent resulted in a final agreement to extend Omar Al-Soma's contract for three more years. Today, the official announcement of the striker's contract renewal was made, with the club's official account tweeting: "The historic Omar Al-Soma remains with Al-Ahli until 2024."
Omar Al-Soma earned the title of the all-time top scorer in the Saudi league with 128 goals after surpassing the previous record held by Nasir Al-Shamrani with 126 goals. The 31-year-old Al-Soma joined Al-Ahli in the summer of 2014 from Al-Qadsia in Kuwait, and he has played 200 matches with the club in all competitions, scoring 174 goals and providing 16 assists.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that Al-Ahli's team is preparing to face their rivals, Al-Hilal, next Friday in a crucial match in the 13th round of the Saudi league. Al-Ahli currently occupies the third position with 22 points, trailing the leaders Al-Hilal by three points, who have 25 points.
