The Syrian artists Sahar Al-Jazairi and Kinda Hanna appeared in a spontaneous video shared widely on social media, showcasing their strong bond and affection for each other.
In the video, the star Sahar Al-Jazairi asks Kinda about her silence, to which Kinda replies that she feels cold. Al-Jazairi also expresses her feeling of coldness and tries to offer her coat to Kinda, who shyly responds with gratitude, saying, "You’re my dear." Kinda clarified that the reason for their coldness was that the video was filmed at three in the morning in an Arab house in the Syrian capital Damascus. She explained that the traditional Arab house, with an open space at the top, contributes to the cold, commonly found in old Damascene homes.
Kinda Hna added that she and Sahar Al-Jazairi were continuing to film their roles in the series "Al-Kandosh," written by Hussam Tahseen Bek, directed by Samir Hussein, and produced by Maher Barghli Artistic Production Group. Al-Jazairi asked their audience to follow their work during the holy month of Ramadan, jokingly questioning on which channel the work would be broadcasted.
The affection between the two Syrian artists was evident in many shared comments and interactions on Facebook, reflecting the good relationship they share. "Al-Kandosh" is a Shami environmental work that refers to the container in which grains are stored, and it was used to preserve food. The story unfolds over 60 episodes, carrying a comedic social tone, featuring songs people would listen to in the year 1940 during the period the work depicts, between 1938 and 1940. It tells the story of a Damascene neighborhood through experiences shared by Tahseen Bek, making it one of the most authentic Shami works. He aims to depict this environment in its true form, with its negatives and positives, away from embellishments, addressing all who tried to tamper with the Shami environment, as he stated in various media interviews.
It is worth noting that artist Kinda Hanna is set to premiere the film "You Are Wounded," written by Qamar Al-Zaman Al-Loush, directed by Najy Ta'mi, and produced by the General Authority for Radio and Television in the upcoming period at the Syrian Opera House, where she will star alongside a select group of arts and drama stars from Syria.
