Barcelona Hosts Elche in Postponed La Liga Match

The "Camp Nou" stadium, home to the Catalan team, will witness a match between FC Barcelona and their guest Elche in the postponed game from the first round of La Liga for the current 2020-2021 season.

Barcelona, led by coach Ronald Koeman, seeks to return to winning ways after drawing 1-1 against Cadiz in their last match at Camp Nou during the 24th round of La Liga. This is essential for maintaining their hopes of competing for the La Liga title this season.

Following the draw, Barcelona dropped to fourth place in the current La Liga standings with 47 points, just one point behind Sevilla, who seized third place by defeating Osasuna 2-0. Atlético Madrid tops the table with 55 points and still has a postponed match, leading Real Madrid by three points, who is in second place with 52 points.

Regarding the Elche match, Dutch coach Ronald Koeman expressed in the press conference, "Of course, we feel a sense of frustration and disappointment, not just for me, but the entire group. However, there is no time to look back; we need to focus on the Elche match." On the competition in La Liga, Koeman stated, "We can fight for the league. The current time shows that everyone is facing difficulties in adding more points. The next two matches against Elche and Sevilla are extremely important. We also know we need to return to the cup. I don’t think one match is more important than the other in the upcoming period; we can compete in both tournaments."

It is worth mentioning that the match is scheduled for this evening at 5 PM Mecca time and will be broadcast on beIN Sports HD3.
