Wael Kfoury Expresses His Longing for His Daughters with Pain, Saying

The artist Wael Kfoury spoke in the first episode of the program "Songs from My Life," which airs on MBC 1. He discussed his artistic beginnings and his determination to enter the field of singing.

His career began with singing at school and later in church, performing religious hymns. He then sang at parties in Zahle, where he was nicknamed the "miracle child." Kfoury mentioned that he moved from Zahle to Beirut to live with his aunt, stating, "My journey was tough. I had no money, and my family was against me singing. I decided to challenge all obstacles until people heard my voice." He explained that his family's rejection of his entry into the music industry stemmed from their fear for his safety in nightlife since he was young. However, his big ambition overcame his struggles, and at the age of 16, he went to Beirut to participate in the "Studio El Fan" program and to study at Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik, where his aunt supported him.

He pointed out the song "Ma W'adtek Binoujoum Allayl" as a reminder of the family home where he spent his childhood, which was filled with love and faith. He affirmed that his upbringing made him a believing man who does not curse. He thanked God for everything because He never abandons him and stands by him during his toughest times, describing Him as the weapon that protects him. Kfoury confirmed that singing is a part of his heart and emotions, and that his determination is the key to his success. He walked his path with firm steps and great confidence, stating, "I walk confidently like a king."

He reminisced about his time at Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik, mentioning his inability to pay all his university fees, linking that period to the song "Battil A'ajibha." Regarding the song "Law Habna Ghalta," Kfoury expressed that love is not a mistake but rather a beautiful feeling. However, some may consider it a mistake when it leads to another place, emphasizing, "Love is beautiful, and its sweetness lies in its bitterness."

Additionally, Kfoury indicated that the song "Waqfiti Auto Stop" relates to his memories of the road to Beirut and the views of trees during a time he longs for. He considered fame and achieving dreams to be beautiful, but the longing for kindness and roots is very important.

Kfoury also expressed his longing for his sons Michel and Milana, stating that he hasn't seen them for a long time. He dedicated the song "Ya Habibi Qarib Li" to them, saying, "I miss them a lot, and I really want to see them. I'm afraid of them, and they're afraid of me, and we remain afraid of each other." The reason for their distance is due to COVID-19 and its associated measures.
