German authorities launched a large-scale raid early Wednesday morning in the states of Berlin and Saxony-Anhalt against a human smuggling gang. A police spokesperson stated that more than 20 homes and offices were searched, mostly in Berlin. Additionally, five men were arrested, four of whom were in Berlin and one in the city of Halle. The spokesperson mentioned that a total of 18 suspects are being investigated for human smuggling into Germany.
