Rocket Attack Targets U.S. Base in Syria

The U.S. Central Command announced that coalition forces stationed in the Rumailan area of northeastern Syria were targeted on Saturday evening by a failed rocket attack using 107mm rockets. In a statement released early Sunday, Central Command indicated that the rocket landed outside the military compound, causing no casualties or injuries to U.S. or partner forces, and no damage to any facilities or equipment. The statement also noted that other rockets were found at the launch site, and that U.S. Central Command forces are investigating the attack. This comes after the U.S. Central Command announced the killing of two senior members of the ISIS terrorist organization in an airstrike conducted by the U.S. military in northern Syria on Thursday.
