Leila Taher Married Young and Dreamed of Becoming a Doctor

Egyptian actress Leila Taher revealed in press statements that she wishes to present a work similar to the film "Al-Nasir Salah al-Din," in which she starred in the 1960s, noting that she is very proud of this work, which was a significant turning point in her artistic career.

Leila pointed out that the film "Saladin" is a historical work that garnered admiration from everyone upon its release because it carried several important messages. In this film, Leila played the role of the wife of King Richard the Lionheart, and the role of the leader of the Hospitallers, in the Crusader army, was portrayed by the late actress Nadia Lotfy.

Recently, actress Madihah Hamdi honored Leila Taher at her cultural salon within the Creative Center at the Egyptian Opera House, celebrating her artistic journey in the presence of several stars, including actresses Samihah Ayoub, Samira Abdel Aziz, Raja Hussein, and Mohamed Abu Dawood.

Leila Taher confirmed that she loved acting since her childhood and followed the films of many actresses, including Faten Hamama, Shadia, Laila Mourad, and Mohamed Fawzi, with whom she expressed a desire to work, although it did not happen. She added, "I wished to be a doctor despite my love for acting, and I got married while I was in high school after my father's death and gave birth to Ahmed, who is the best gift to me in the world."

It’s worth noting that the film "The Soft Hands" was one of her most prominent works during her artistic career, despite her fears about it and the presence of major stars, but director Mahmoud Zulfikar encouraged her to excel in her role.
