Turkish Prisoners Attempt to Escape Amid Earthquakes

A number of Turkish prisoners in Malatya attempted to exploit the devastating earthquake that struck parts of Turkey on Monday to flee from prison, but their efforts failed after the prison guards noticed them. Turkish media reported that the prisoners tried to escape during the tremors, but the guards caught them on their way out and thwarted the attempt. It is worth mentioning that several areas in Turkey were hit by a powerful earthquake yesterday, measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale, causing significant destruction and resulting in the deaths of over 3,600 people and injuring about 16,000 others. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
