The army announced that as a result of monitoring efforts to thwart an attempt to smuggle people by sea near the town of Al-Areedah - Akkar, the naval forces managed to reach the smuggling vessel 6 nautical miles from the shore. It was found that the vessel had suffered a malfunction earlier, carrying 55 people, including two pregnant women and two children. Additionally, the captain had left the vessel on a smaller boat before the army's arrival. The naval forces towed the vessel towards the shore, and an investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
