The Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, praised the agreement achieved between Saudi Arabia and Iran, as well as the efforts made to achieve this agreement, particularly by Iraq and Oman. He stated, "We rely equally on the wisdom of the leaderships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue making every sincere effort to open a new chapter that would be the beginning of exemplary and strong relations between Iran and all neighboring Arab countries based on mutual respect for the sovereignty and independence of all states, and to enhance friendship and common interests of the peoples."
He congratulated Saudi Arabia and Iran on this historic strategic agreement and reiterated the call for all political and party forces in Lebanon to swiftly come together for mutual understanding and to elect a president for the republic through consensus and dialogue. He concluded: "Enough wasting time and missing opportunities; let us prove to our brothers and friends that we have reached the age of national maturity and are truly sovereign and deserving of Lebanon."
