Russia announced that it successfully conducted a test launch of an "advanced" intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) after weeks of suspending its participation in the latest nuclear arms control agreement with the United States.
The Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that a combat crew successfully launched an ICBM from a mobile ground missile system at a testing site in Kapustin Yar on Tuesday. It noted that "the missile's warhead hit a mock target at the Sary Shagan training ground (Kazakhstan) with high precision." Additionally, it stated that the launch helped confirm the validity of the planning, structural, and technical solutions used in the development of new strategic missile systems.
