Unannounced Communications... Will They Bear Fruit?

Despite the prevailing stagnation regarding the presidential election, it seems that there is some internal movement, albeit timid at the moment. In this context, a source close to Ain al-Tineh indicated to "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency that communications are ongoing and taking place through multiple channels, and it is likely that they will develop further and may come to light later. The source emphasized that the Speaker of the Parliament will revive his dialogue initiative not out of embarrassment, but out of responsibility and a direction towards seriousness in engagement and the positivity that could arise.

Regarding the statement by Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi last Sunday, in which he called for adopting the ordinary quorum in future electoral sessions, the source noted that Nabih Berri was the first to warn of the consequences of a vacuum before any other authority, stressing that the country cannot bear a void, and discussions should have been swift—hence his initiative for dialogue, which the parliamentary blocs did not respond to.

When asked about the Shiite duo's call for consensus on the name proposed by it, the source replied: it is not accurate to say that the consensus must be on a specific person; rather, we need to agree on the specifications and the program based on the circumstances of the phase, which then dictates the individual to propose a name subsequently.
