The Brazilian Football Confederation has announced the appointment of Fluminense coach Fernando Deniz as the temporary coach of the national team while the federation continues to pursue Italian Carlo Ancelotti. The contract will last for one year, starting with the matches in the qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup in September.
Deniz expressed that it is "a great honor to serve the national team." The position of Brazil's coach has been vacant since Tite resigned following the team's exit in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. The Brazilian federation stated that "Deniz will continue his duties at Fluminense while taking on the responsibilities of the national team."
