The European Council announced in a statement today, Monday, that it has decided to impose sanctions on eight individuals and one entity responsible for human rights violations in Iran. The Council reported the imposition of sanctions on the Iranian mobile service company, "Arian Tel," which contributed to the implementation of surveillance operations that the Iranian government planned to suppress opposition. The new sanctions also include members of the Iranian parliament, elements of the Revolutionary Guard, and the cooperative foundation of the Revolutionary Guard, responsible for managing the Guard's investments.
