In a school in the Sidi Bel Abbes province of Algeria, 29 cases of suffocation and fainting were reported among students due to a gas leak. The province stated on its page that incidents of suffocation and fainting occurred among 29 students at Ibn Badis Primary School in the Sakia al-Hamra neighborhood of Sidi Bel Abbes. It was noted that the suffocation happened as a result of carbon monoxide gas leaking from the classroom heater, leading to the students being transported by civil protection services to the emergency medical department at Hassani Abd al-Qadir Hospital. The province confirmed that no serious cases were recorded, apart from the fainting of some students and breathing difficulties for others.
