Arrests Following Poisoning of Students in Iranian Schools

The Iranian Ministry of Interior announced today, Tuesday, that "some individuals have been arrested in five provinces for investigation regarding the poisoning of female students in schools." Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the "need for intelligence agencies to be prepared to deal with any security threats, including those threatening public health in schools," according to the Iranian news agency "IRNA."

The Ministry of Interior stated that preliminary results of the investigation into the poisoning incidents in the country's girls' schools indicated that "no toxic or dangerous substances have been found."

A statement from the Ministry of Interior said, "According to the reports received so far, in 250 classrooms across the country, a limited number of students expressed feelings of complications and discomfort," according to "IRNA."

The statement added that "based on the examination of suspicious samples in the most reliable laboratories in the country and the summary of results obtained by the scientific committee of the Ministry of Health, consisting of senior experts in various medical and health fields, as well as the defense organization, fortunately, to this day, no toxic or dangerous substances have been found in any of the students who visited medical centers."

The Ministry of Interior noted that "according to investigations, some cases that caused infections in certain schools stemmed from adventurous actions that have been addressed, without revealing further details on what it termed 'adventures'." They confirmed that they are "prosecuting several individuals who caused psychological and health distress in the community by creating a heated atmosphere and anxiety through spreading lies alongside the blind noise of foreign elements."
