Finland's Embassy in Moscow Received Letter Containing Powder

Russian media agency reported today, Friday, that "the Finnish Embassy in Moscow contacted the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after receiving three letters, one of which contained powder." Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated: "We can confirm that the Finnish Embassy sent a request to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding three identical envelopes addressed to the military attaché and his assistants on April 13, placed in the diplomatic mission's mailbox... The Finnish Embassy will be informed of the investigation results." Relations between Moscow and Helsinki have sharply deteriorated since Finland officially joined NATO on April 4, becoming the 31st member of the military alliance led by the United States.
