A statement from the "Jewish Power" party, the far-right partner in the Israeli government coalition, said today, Monday, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will delay discussions on the controversial judicial reforms until next month. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir indicated that he agreed to postpone the judicial amendments the government seeks to pass in exchange for a commitment to present them after the next parliamentary break. Ben Gvir noted that he agreed to relinquish his veto power over the legislation, in return for a promise from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to bring the legislation to the Knesset for passage in the next session. Meanwhile, right-wing Knesset member Simcha Rothman stated to the Israel Hayom channel, which supports the settlers, that halting the government’s planned judicial reforms would be a mistake.
