"Comedy Cinema" is the Theme of the Ninth Saudi Film Festival

The Saudi Film Festival has announced the holding of its ninth edition from May 4 to 11, focusing on "Comedy Cinema." The Saudi Cinema Association, which organizes the festival, stated in a press release that "the festival highlights a different cinematic theme in each edition, and for its ninth edition, it has chosen an important theme: Comedy Cinema. This encourages producers to pay attention to this theme in their upcoming productions."

The association added that a special program will be presented featuring international film screenings as significant examples from this theme. The festival will honor Saudi film producer Saleh Al-Fawzan and Bahraini writer and film critic Amin Saleh in the upcoming edition.

The participating works will compete in five competitions for a chance to win 20 awards in the film categories, along with six awards in the unproduced screenplay competition and six grants for production market projects. In addition to the cultural program, the festival will release and translate 18 books in the field of film industry and cinema.
