Putin: The West Seeks to Escalate the Conflict in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin called today for the establishment of a multipolar world, arguing that "this would be a solution to most crises." He pointed out at the Moscow International Security Conference that "NATO countries are trying to strengthen their capabilities and are using all means to pressure Russia." In this context, he viewed the "situation in Ukraine as an example of the West's policy of pouring oil on the fire," stating that "the West seeks to escalate the conflict in Ukraine and draw other countries into it."
