Union of Audiovisual Workers Condemns "France 24" Decision

Union of Audiovisual Workers Condemns

The Union of Audiovisual Workers condemned in a statement the "France 24 decision to suspend the work of several of its correspondents, under the pretext of publishing anti-Semitic headlines and texts." It considered that "this decision reflects the level of professional decline that many media outlets have reached, which have adopted double standards as a slogan ensuring their workers' continued employment and a sword over those who oppose them." The statement concluded, "While the Board of the Union of Audiovisual Workers reaffirms its condemnation of any action that violates media and professional freedom, it urges the channel to retract this mistake that harms it in particular and the media profession and the truth in general."
