European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell indicated after a call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that "both sides wish to enhance relations between the EU and China." Borrell wrote on his official X account: "We discussed the upcoming Strategic Dialogue in Beijing in preparation for the EU-China Summit," noting that they also "exchanged views on Niger and the Jeddah meeting on Ukraine."
