The Pakistani police announced today, Wednesday, that at least 11 people were killed after a wall collapsed on them due to heavy monsoon rains in the outskirts of Islamabad. A police official stated that workers from a nearby construction site were inside a makeshift tent set up beneath the wall, seeking shelter from the rain. Last year's monsoon rains caused an unprecedented number of floods in the South Asian country, resulting in the deaths of around 1,700 people and losses estimated in the billions of dollars.
