What are Lenticular Clouds That Appeared Over the Peaks of Lebanon?

Lebanese environmental activist Michel Suwan shared a series of photos on Facebook showing the northern peaks of Lebanon crowned with lenticular clouds. He explained that lenticular clouds enveloped the peaks of al-Dinnieh - Mount al-Arbaeen, noting that they "form at an altitude ranging from 2000 to 5000 meters when winds pass over a mountain range or any high natural obstacles in the terrain, and when the right conditions are available, especially humidity." He added: "The upward movement of the winds leads to the condensation of water vapor, resulting in the stunning saucer-like appearance of the cloud. Although they may seem stationary in the sky and move slowly, lenticular clouds and their surroundings create a zone of severe turbulence due to the descending and ascending wind movements, which can pose a danger to aviation when aircraft pass through them."
