Water Levels in Dnieper River Set to Return to Normal Soon

Vladimir Saldo, a Russian-appointed official, confirmed that "the water level in the southern tributary of the Dnieper River is expected to return to its normal level by June 16, following a massive flood caused by the destruction of the Ukrainian Kakhovka Dam last week." He stated, "The water level in Nova Kakhovka has now dropped by 3 meters from the peak on Tuesday."

He added, "Water pumping has begun, and debris is being collected from the streets." Saldo mentioned that approximately 7,000 people were evacuated from the flooded areas of Nova Kakhovka, including 323 children, while 77 people were hospitalized.

He also accused Ukraine of shelling temporary shelters for flood-displaced individuals, saying, "A woman died as a result of the attacks."
