Nick Kyrgios, who reached the Wimbledon final, has withdrawn from the Halle tennis championship due to a knee injury, according to an announcement by the ATP on Monday. The 28-year-old player underwent surgery on his left knee this year and lost in his return match after a five-month absence to Chinese player Wu Yibing in the first round of the Stuttgart tournament last week. Kyrgios faced movement issues during that match, leading to his withdrawal from the 500-point Halle tournament, where he reached the semifinals in 2022. The ATP wrote on Twitter: "Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Halle due to a knee injury, and Aslan Karatsev will replace him." Previously, Kyrgios, who lost to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final last year, had played a singles match in October in Tokyo and then withdrew from the Australian Open early this year. He missed the French Open due to a foot injury sustained during a car theft last month. The Wimbledon tournament begins on July 3rd.
