Russia: Biden's Remarks on "Investment" in Ukraine and Israel Reflect American Contempt

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated today that U.S. President Joe Biden's remark describing support for Ukraine and Israel as an "investment" reveals how Washington benefits from proxy wars and does not fight for ideals. Biden referred to assistance to the U.S. allies as a "smart investment that will benefit American security for generations" during his efforts to rally support for new aid packages. Zakharova expressed via Telegram that Biden's comments indicate contempt. She added, "They are used to calling this the struggle for freedom and democracy. Now it has become clear that these are merely calculations. It has always been this way; they deceived the world by exploiting values that Washington has never truly defended." Zakharova continued, "Wars are usually smart investments for the United States as long as they do not occur on American soil, and they do not care about the price paid by others."
