Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stated that Lebanon requires Lebanese reconciliation rather than Iranian-Saudi rapprochement. In an interview with "Al Arabiya," he announced that Lebanese politicians need to prioritize Lebanese interests above all else and work towards building the state, which will lead to prosperity, asserting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will stand by Lebanon.
He emphasized the necessity of finding a new approach to the Syrian crisis and the challenges related to Syrian refugees and the humanitarian situation, which requires dialogue with the government in Damascus, noting that the current situation in Syria is unsustainable.
Bin Farhan confirmed that Saudi Arabia and Arab countries are working on appropriate frameworks in consultation with their partners in the international community.
He addressed the recent "extremely concerning" developments in Palestine, expressing fear that escalation might be initiated that cannot be halted. He held the Israeli side responsible for stopping the continuous actions in Palestine and for fostering suitable conditions for the resumption of dialogue.
He believed the solution lies in establishing a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, adding that "Saudi Arabia is determined to push for dialogue to resolve this issue."
