WTA: The Finals "Are Not Ideal"

The Women's Tennis Association acknowledged that this year's edition of the WTA Finals was "not an ideal event," hinting at changes after receiving several complaints from top players regarding how they were treated. WTA President Steve Simon stated, "Choosing the Cancun resort in Mexico to host the event shortly before its date was based on a number of complex factors." He added, "It is not an ideal event. We recognize that the circumstances are challenging, and the WTA takes responsibility for this matter."
