Chinese Premier to Attend G20 Summit in India

The Chinese Foreign Ministry indicated today, Monday, that "Chinese Premier Li Qiang will attend the G20 summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi early next week." Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that "China hopes the summit will support consensus among member states, build trust, and enhance development." Li's attendance automatically means that President Xi Jinping will not attend the summit, as the two highest officials in China cannot be out of the country at the same time.
