Interior Minister Assures Security: Lebanese Do Not Want War

Interior and Municipalities Minister in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, affirmed, "We and the security forces are in full coordination with the army leadership to maintain security, and the Lebanese do not want war, nor will anyone jeopardize security as long as there is a will to prevent it." Mawlawi stated in an interview with MTV that they did not sign the naturalization decree because it should not have passed. He noted that "caretaker governance is not static, and the Prime Minister may convene the government or not based on developments. Mikati manages the government according to his national duty, unlike another who manages files in a way that creates problems." He emphasized that "the constitution is clear regarding the prohibition of a vacuum in the governmental position, and I was invited to celebrate at the Taif Forum.
