Netflix announced on Monday that an animated version of the sci-fi series "Stranger Things" is in production, as part of the streaming company's efforts to expand the reach of its successful shows. The original show's creators, the Duffer brothers, stated in a release: "We have always dreamed of having an animated series of 'Stranger Things' in the context of the cartoons we watched on Saturday mornings, which we grew up loving." Netflix first aired the series in 2016, and it has become the most-watched English-language series on the platform. The story revolves around a group of teenagers experiencing extraordinary events in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.
