Before the incident, Al-Essawi posted on his Facebook page: "I am Judge Nizar Al-Essawi, I sentence the defendant Nizar Al-Essawi to death by burning because he is a man... I adjourned the session... Enough, I can no longer bear it; today the execution will take place." The Tunisian player Nizar Al-Essawi set himself on fire during a live broadcast. Al-Essawi, a player for the Nasr Jlma club, stood in front of the police station in Hafouz and revealed that he had a dispute with a banana seller who had filed a complaint against him. During the investigation, he was surprised to be accused of terrorism, prompting him to pour gasoline on himself and ignite it.
